Queendom.

Queendom.

The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. You can change the way people live their lives. That’s the only lasting thing you can create.

Connection

Gradually, day-by-day, in our brave new world, machines and technology offer us virtual connection, virtual communication, but there is no substitute for looking at another person in their eyes. Only connect with them, and you notice, you really begin to see that person.

Nina Simone - Seems I’m Never Tired of Loving You

Connecting with one thing tends to separate you from something else. I mean, we all love the internet, right? It’s paradoxical. In the Republican Party they bond over how independent they are. You join the group to prove your independence. Strange how connections can divide us. That’s where God works differently. His Light is inclusive. It doesn’t so much separate us from the darkness of matter as free us from it’s divisiveness. This is the great theme of the Bible. The Jews escape the Egyptian reality of master and slave. Christians are liberated from the Law itself by faith in the Spirit. And the Spirit - perceived only in love - returns us to the dimension in which we are all one.

My impression is that Nina Simone lived this contradiction between connection and separation more than most. As an African-American woman artist, she struggled with racism and sexism, at once estranged and reaching out for expression. This song appeared on “Nina at the Piano,” in which she sang and played solo. It was the album she was most proud of. Her passion goes deep.

Darling, you are always needed/ And your tenderness is needed too

And it seems that I’m never tired loving you.

Never was the feeling stronger./ Aching for the sweet things you do

And it seems that I’m never tired loving you.

Should the mountains crumble to ashes/ And the rain should cease to fall

And if the river stopped its flowing,/ You’d still be my all and all

And if the clouds cover the sky/ So the sunlight don’t come through

Then I would never, never, never, never/ Never tire of loving you

spiritualinspiration:

God will always finish what He started. The moment God placed a dream in your heart, the moment that promise took root, God not only started something in your life but He also set a completion date. Scripture tells us that God is called the Author and the Finisher of our faith. God wouldn’t have given you the dream; the promise wouldn’t have come alive if God didn’t already have a plan to bring it to pass.

It doesn’t matter how long it’s been or how impossible it looks. Your mind may tell you that it’s too late. You’ve missed too many opportunities. It’s never going to happen. No, God is saying, “It’s not over. I have the final say. I’ve already set the completion date.” So if you will stay in faith and not talk yourself out of it, it will just be a matter of time before it comes to pass!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:Father, thank You for completing what You’ve started in my life. I choose to trust You. I choose to wait on You. I put my faith in You knowing that through faith and patience every promise will come to pass in Jesus’ name. Amen.
